A Midsummer Night's Dream

Versión Original

Theseus, Athen's Duke, and Hippolyta, Amazonian's Queen, are planning their wedding. While they discuss their relationship, the old man Egeus came with his daughter, Hermia, and her two suitors, Lysander and Demetrius.
Hermia is in love with Lysander, but her father wants her to marry Demetrius. Lysander said that he is as good man as Demetrius, but Egeus did not want to listen to him. He said that if Hermia will not marry Demetrius, she will have to die. This is the law of Athens and his right as her father. This is Hermia's sad fate… But all is not lost for the maiden! Lysander comes up with a plan. He and Hermia will escape from Athens. Then they will marry and will live in peace.
Also, they have an unexpected help. The beautiful Helena, closest friend Hermia, is in love with Demetrius, but she first needs to win his love. So, she has decided to tell Demetrius of this plot, but the heart of her lover is cold as ice. Now, Demetrius is in the forest, full of hate and blind with rage, and he wants to kill Lysander. Now, Helena is in the forest too, full of rage and torments of love. Yet, she would to die for Demetrius.
Meanwhile, in the fairy-enchanted forest, Puck, Oberon's servant, speaks with one of Titania's fairies. The fairy recognizes Puck as the troublemaker, Robin Goodfellow. They also discuss the argument between Oberon and Titania, the King and the Queen of the fairies. Oberon is angry with Titania because she refuses to give him the changeling boy that she has stolen.
Titania will not give him up, so Oberon takes his revenge by having his servant Puck find a special flower whose juice he will squeeze onto Titania's eyes while she is asleep. Then she will fall madly in love with the first thing that she sees when she awakes; whether it is a lion, a bear, a wolf, a bull, a monkey, or an ape!
In that moment, Oberon, seeing Demetrius reject Helena, tells Puck to put the potion on Demetrius' eyes also. But Puck mistakes Lysander for Demetrius, and Lysander wakes to see Helena, whom he falls in love with and chases after, leaving Hermia alone...
