Experiencia Dalia Gutmann is a stand-up show in which, true to her verbose, intense and over-the-top style, the comedian shares the experiences of a former 90s teenager who is now a perimenopausal woman, mother of two, in a long-term relationship (even if no one calls it that anymore), and who recognizes herself as changeable, doubtful, hysterical, late and stubborn. All those traits that complicate her life… Dalia tries to turn them into comedy.
On stage, Gutmann delivers a series of monologues that tackle universal topics from a deeply personal perspective: perimenopause, the “dating market” in midlife, female insecurities in a world obsessed with Instagram perfection, everyday embarrassments, and the difficulty of “calming down” in the face of adult responsibilities. “I’m not going to calm down” seems to be the implicit motto of this show, which, according to the artist herself, is a true work in progress — just like her life.
With more than 20 years of experience in comedy, Dalia Gutmann shares what happens to her with the audience and has established herself as a key voice in portraying women’s experiences through humor. Her remarkable ability to connect makes many women feel identified and accompanied, and helps the men who attend the show understand a little more about everyday female life… although, it must be said, sometimes they leave more confused than when they arrived.
