Vaiana is a spirited young woman who loves the sea and the only daughter of the chief of the village of Motunui. When the villagers’ fishermen can no longer catch any fish and all the crops fail, Vaiana discovers that the demigod Maui caused the misfortune after stealing the heart of the goddess Te Fiti. The only way to save the island’s fate is to persuade Maui to return the heart to Te Fiti. Vaiana then sets off on a daring adventure to save her village alongside the demigod Maui.
